Julie Prutsman

Dr. Julie Prutsman, owner and founder of Sound Relief Hearing Center, is an expert at helping people hear better and treating tinnitus. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Marietta College, her Master’s Degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from the University of Colorado and her Doctorate Degree in Audiology from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry’s School of Audiology. She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, American Doctors of Audiology, and American Tinnitus Association.

Jackie Smith

AuD

Jackie prides herself on providing excellent patient care and improving the quality of each patient’s life through better hearing and tinnitus relief. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from the University of Colorado and earned her Doctorate of Audiology at the University of Northern Colorado. Dr. Smith has worked in a variety of clinical settings including private practice, Ear Nose and Throat (ENT), and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.

Kenzie Phillips

AuD

Kenzie, a Colorado native, earned her bachelor’s degree in speech, language and hearing sciences from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She then went on to complete her Doctorate in Audiology at Northwestern University in Chicago. During her residency at the National Institutes of Health, she conducted hearing research in patients with complex medical needs and disorders. These experiences developed her passion for hearing and have translated into dedication to improving patients’ quality of life by providing treatment options for both hearing loss and tinnitus. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time skiing and fishing in Winter Park, hiking, practicing yoga, and playing with her energetic family dog, Joey.

Megan Read

AuD, CCC-A, FAAA

Megan, an 8th generation Texan, is a huge San Antonio Spurs fan and the first in her family to move away from the Lone Star state. She earned her B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Abilene Christian University in 2004. She worked in elementary education as both an interpreter in a deaf education classroom and as a speech pathology assistant. Dr. Read then obtained her Doctorate of Audiology degree from the University of Colorado – Boulder in 2010. Her desire has always been to educate and empower her patients by working together to maximize access to communication. Dr. Read worked in a neurotology practice for nine years before joining the Sound Relief team. During that time, she sought out specialized training in the management of tinnitus and sound sensitivity disorders under Dr. Pawel Jastreboff, Ph.D., Sc.D. She loves both the art and the science of tinnitus treatment and truly enjoys walking alongside each patient in their unique hearing health journey. Megan also enjoys exploring her creative side and trying new recipes. You might find her walking the many trails in Highlands Ranch with her husband Tim, their three children, Natalee, Brighton, and Ellie, and their two mischievous Westies, Ollie and Jefferson.

Brenda Garcia

Brenda has been licensed in Colorado as a National Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist since 2001. She has experience working in various clinical settings throughout the Denver area and the Western Slope. Her passion for helping her patients is evident in the time she takes to understand each person to enable them to achieve better hearing. She enjoys reconnecting people to the sounds they have been missing and enriching their quality of life. Brenda is a member of the International Hearing Society and is President Elect of the Colorado Hearing Society. She has been an active board member since 2016. Brenda, a proud Colorado native from Cortez, enjoys both the country life as well as city living. Her favorite activities are fishing, camping, snowboarding, hiking, traveling and enjoying the many craft breweries of Colorado. Brenda lives in Highlands Ranch with her wife Carrie and their dog Jack.
